PBR Albuquerque 2027: Ty Murray Invitational Tickets and The Pit Guide
Plan the April 23–25, 2027 Ty Murray Invitational at The Pit with verified session times, official ticket routes, seat questions and arrival guidance.

The PBR Albuquerque Ty Murray Invitational is scheduled for April 23–25, 2027 at The Pit, with Friday and Saturday evening starts and a Sunday afternoon performance. The official PBR event page directs ticket buyers to the University of New Mexico's ticket service. Confirm the admission dates and complete price there before booking the rest of your visit.
This guide helps you choose a session, evaluate the actual seating map, prepare for entry and follow the individual Unleash The Beast competition. It also separates confirmed plans from details that still need checking: current ticket inventory, the exact PBR seating configuration, door times and parking arrangements. The event information was checked on October 1, 2026. As April approaches, recheck the official listing and your seller's instructions so a changed detail does not disrupt the weekend.
Confirm the 2027 dates and local session times
The 2027 PBR Albuquerque Ty Murray Invitational is scheduled for April 23–25 at The Pit. This is an Unleash The Beast stop, where individual riders compete, rather than the Las Vegas team championship. The current PBR event page lists the following starts. All times in this table are local Mountain Time, as checked on October 1, 2026.
| Session | Date | Scheduled start |
|---|---|---|
| Friday | April 23, 2027 | 6:45 p.m. MT |
| Saturday | April 24, 2027 | 6:45 p.m. MT |
| Sunday | April 25, 2027 | 1:45 p.m. MT |
The Friday AXS listing independently shows April 23 at 6:45 p.m. Treat that as a check of Friday, rather than confirmation that every listing covers the complete weekend. Save the date printed on your actual admission ticket: a Friday ticket and a Sunday ticket can have similar event names while granting entry to different performances.
A start time is also different from a doors time. The listings checked for this guide do not establish a reliable door-opening time for all three sessions, so build your arrival around the event instructions that accompany your purchase. Walking from your parking place, meeting companions and finding the correct entrance all happen before you reach your seat. Arriving at the advertised start leaves little flexibility if one of those steps takes longer than expected.
For a local fan, Friday and Saturday offer evening options after the daytime routine. Sunday offers an afternoon visit, which can suit a family that wants to avoid another late outing. For a traveler, the distinction affects hotel nights and the return journey: a Sunday afternoon start still requires time for the competition, the exit and onward travel. No published finish time is promised here. Keep the Albuquerque event overview handy, then verify the official listing again before departure.
Buy the admission that matches your visit
Begin at the official Albuquerque event page and follow its Get Tickets button to the University of New Mexico ticket directory. That route helps distinguish the actual event seller from an advertisement or a similarly named listing. PBR also supplies separate direct and premium ticket links. Use the route that matches the product you want, and retain the seller's order confirmation.
Single-day tickets or the three-day package
Check the UNM purchase screen for the admission choices currently offered: an individual performance, a multi-day package, or both. During this guide's checks, the ticket directory required verification and its live choices could not be confirmed. Availability, checkout prices and any sale countdown therefore need checking directly with the seller; an older search snippet cannot establish what is on sale right now. If the directory is still loading, return through the official link or contact the ticket office rather than treating the loading screen as proof of a sellout.
If single-session tickets are available, they are the easier commitment when you are introducing someone to bull riding or can only attend after work. If a three-day option is offered, it makes sense when the competition is the center of your weekend and you intend to return each day. Compare that package total with three single-session totals for the same number of people and a comparable seating area. Do not assume a package automatically offers a discount, the identical seat every day or permission to leave and re-enter; confirm those details in its terms.
Compare seats, extras and the final total
Before paying, check the event year, session dates, section, row, seat count and complete amount due. A useful comparison has the same scope on both sides: two Saturday admissions versus two Saturday admissions, or two complete weekend packages versus six individual admissions. A cheaper-looking Sunday ticket does not solve a Saturday attendance plan. A product marked parking-only also provides a different service from entry to the competition.
The PBR premium page describes its broader experience offerings. For Albuquerque, ask which benefits are actually included in the specific 2027 product, whether admission is included, and whether a timed experience requires an earlier arrival. A general promotional description does not establish a guaranteed local itinerary. If your priority is simply seeing the rides, evaluate the view and seat access before paying extra for an experience you may not use.
Finally, add the other costs you will actually incur: transport, any separately charged parking, meals and lodging. Keep the confirmation number and seller's contact details together, especially if different household members handle payment and travel. For other tour stops that may fit your dates, use the PBR Schedule calendar to compare event locations before committing to travel.
Choose a useful view inside The Pit
The Pit's name describes its unusual construction: UNM's arena guide explains that the building sits in a 37-foot hole. Its bowl surrounds the playing floor, and later improvements added updated lower-bowl seating, club areas, suites and end-wall video boards. Those features explain the venue, but they do not establish the exact seat inventory or chute positions for the 2027 bull-riding setup.

When the actual PBR seating map is available, first locate the competition floor and chutes. Then compare the seat's direction, distance and height. A position farther up may help you follow the whole arena; a seat nearer the action may make individual details easier to see. Both are preferences rather than a guarantee of an unobstructed view. Ask about any listed obstruction before buying, and avoid selecting a section solely because it looks desirable on a basketball diagram.
Seat location, stairs and accessible booking
UNM's venue guidance notes that most Pit seating requires fans to descend and climb stairs. Although that page is organized around basketball, the physical access question is relevant when choosing a bull-riding seat. A low row that looks attractive for proximity may involve a less convenient journey from the concourse. An aisle seat can make moving past companions easier, but its position alone does not prove a step-free route.
If stairs are difficult, contact the UNM ticket office before selecting ordinary seats. Explain whether you need a wheelchair space, a companion seat or another seating arrangement, and ask about the route from the relevant entrance. Confirm that the response applies to the PBR performance you are buying. Booking the suitable location first is more reliable than expecting a last-minute relocation in a busy arena.
Groups should also decide what matters most before opening the map. One person may value proximity to the chutes, while another prioritizes easier movement or sitting together. Agree on the important requirement, compare seats that satisfy it, and only then compare prices. That makes the final choice easier to explain to everyone sharing the purchase.
Prepare for arrival at the university arena
Getting to The Pit and getting into your seat are separate parts of the visit. The arena is at 1111 University Boulevard SE, near Avenida Cesar Chavez. UNM's facility directions place it on the southwest corner of that intersection. Use the actual arena destination when planning the route, then follow the PBR-specific arrival instructions for entrances and any parking product attached to your order.
Tickets, bags and family essentials
UNM's mobile-ticketing instructions explain its digital admission and wallet tools. For tickets delivered through UNM, open the correct event on your phone before joining the entrance line and follow the supplied wallet or transfer instructions. If you bought through a different official route, use that seller's instructions. An order receipt is useful for support, but check that you can display the admission credential itself.
The dedicated UNM clear-bag policy permits clear bags no larger than 12 by 6 by 12 inches and gallon-sized freezer bags. It also says clutches must be clear, and sets out inspection provisions for medical and diaper bags. Read that dedicated policy rather than relying on an older purse-size summary, and confirm the arrangements for your PBR session. Packing lightly helps avoid a return to the car for an unsuitable bag.
Families should resolve admission for infants before purchasing. The general PBR ticket FAQ describes lap admission for children under two, while UNM's basketball venue guidance says every attendee needs a ticket. Those descriptions do not establish one confirmed 2027 PBR exception. Ask the UNM seller specifically about your child's age and this event; do not budget around assumed free entry. Also settle what you may bring for the child and where companions will meet if they arrive separately.
Parking and the last part of the journey
PBR directs parking questions to the arena. Check the event's actual lot instructions, any pass requirements and the current charge before traveling. Basketball parking diagrams and free parking offered for a different university sport do not prove the PBR arrangement. This guide therefore does not promise a particular fee, opening time or lot assignment for April 2027.
Before leaving the car, check that the correct session tickets are accessible and that everyone has what they need for entry. Note the lot or landmark so the return journey is straightforward. If you use a ride service, agree on a meeting point consistent with the venue's instructions rather than assuming the entrance will also be the pickup area. Leave room for the walk and admission process before the scheduled first ride.
Follow the individual competition across the weekend
Albuquerque's Unleash The Beast competition rewards individual riders. A rider can also belong to a PBR team, but that affiliation does not turn this event's individual leaderboard into a team win-loss table. Once you are seated, watch the ride first, then check which score the board is displaying: the latest attempt, a running event total or points awarded toward the wider season.
The official PBR 101 guide sets out the foundation. A qualified ride requires eight seconds with one hand on the bull rope and the other free. A successful ride can receive up to 100 points, with up to 50 for the rider and 50 for the bull. Getting bucked off early produces no rider score for that attempt, and touching the bull with the free hand can disqualify the ride. Judges may award a re-ride in specified circumstances, so an apparent delay can be part of resolving the competition rather than a change in the evening's purpose.

The 2026 event provides a useful example of the different numbers. PBR's report records Whitehorse completing four of four attempts for a 361.90 aggregate and earning 191 UTB points. His final ride received 90.75. Those figures describe three different things: one ride, his combined event performance, and his reward toward the season standings. They should not be compared as if all three were single-ride marks.
For 2027, consult the event's published notes and current daysheet for the actual round structure and participating riders. The previous year's four-attempt example does not confirm next year's exact format or field. On a daysheet, look for the rider, assigned bull and attempt order; during the performance, compare the official result with that planned matchup. Scratches or changes can make a saved earlier sheet less useful than the current version.
If you attend more than one day, note the leading riders after each session and revisit the event standings before the next. That gives the following rides a clear storyline without assuming an early leader has already won. If you attend one day, the same habit helps you understand where that performance fits in the weekend.
Make the three days work with your travel plans
Build the trip around the performances you will actually attend. The official Albuquerque listing gives you two evening starts and a Sunday afternoon start. It does not promise a finish time. Admission, seating and transport arrangements should be settled before you commit to a return journey that leaves little room after the competition.
A practical plan for locals and visiting fans
For Friday, work backward from your intended arrival at the arena. Decide where the group will meet, allow time to eat, and account for the final drive or ride to The Pit. Someone coming directly from work may need a different plan from a companion already at home. Sharing the admission instructions ahead of time helps the group avoid turning one person's delay into everyone's missed opening.
On Saturday, a visiting fan can keep daytime plans flexible and have a meal before traveling to the evening session. Treat the arena visit as the day's fixed appointment. Avoid a restaurant or excursion plan that only works if every earlier step finishes exactly on time. Local fans returning for a second night should still open Saturday's ticket rather than reusing the credential they displayed on Friday.
Sunday needs a different sequence. If you are checking out of accommodation, agree on luggage arrangements with the property and decide whether you are driving directly to the arena. Eat with enough time to reach your seat for the afternoon start. A departure after the performance must also leave room for exiting the bowl, returning to the vehicle or meeting your ride, and continuing to the next destination. The advertised start alone cannot tell you when that process will finish.
If you miss a session, check PBR's viewing schedule near the event for the actual live or replay arrangement. This guide does not assign an unannounced 2027 Albuquerque broadcaster. A broadcast listing may also describe a different start from in-arena admission. Use the PBR today page as a convenient daily starting point, then verify the session details with the official event and seller before setting out.
